NOTE: Second number in cartridge designation is grains of water to bottom of case neck. Base of bullet should not be located below that point for optimum performance.

We have several 5mm/35 SMc chambering reamers and headspace gauge sets in stock.

Generally Pacific Tool requires about three to six weeks to fill an order on existing designs.

Those interested in a different caliber or capacity in an SMc design should be aware that we can design a reamer set according to the parametric SMc criteria. However, obtaining cases of correct base diameter (or with a sufficiently thin body wall to allow the usually significant shortening may be a serious problem, except as noted in the associated "Detailed Information…" document.

::continued::

First, the die body has a large window that allows one to easily drop bullets into the die. The sliding body that aligns the case to the floating seating stem has a spring-loaded roller pin that catches, aligns, and holds the bullet until needed.

This die eliminates the awkward and tiring holding of tiny bullets until the case pushes that into the seating die. No more merely hoping or assuming that the bullet will stay on or stand in the case mouth until seating occurs.

No more pinched, crushed, or cut fingers!

Second, the sliding body centers and aligns the case in the die during the entire seating operation. This improves loaded round straightness.

Third, the floating seating stem centers the bullet nose and aligns the bullet to the die (and to the case). Hence there can be no lateral stress during bullet seating (such stress is common with any conventional die and can result in bent case shoulders and non-concentric, less-accurate loads).

Fourth, the seating stem is adjusted by a micrometer with 1/1000-inch gradations. Precisely adjusting cartridge overall length is simple and precisely repeatable.
