Comparisons of 1/12 and 1/16 Twist Results with
32-grain Sierra: Left target typical of results with H322 and
TAC with muzzle velocities just above 4400 fps. Right target (excepting left-center
group) BenchMark and 1720 (non-canister Ramshot) at about 4650-
and 4500-fps, respectively. Group at top left: first two shots
in right hole; second 3-shots in left hole – first two were
fouler shots. Group at top center, seven shots with bullet just touching
rifling. This same basic load made groups down left side.
As seems typical, such a load seldom works well, not surprisingly,
both accuracy and ballistic uniformity were off. Bottom-center
group and groups on right side and center-left are BenchMark
at 4650 fps with varying seating depths. Again, load with bullet touching
rifling (center-right) did not work.
